Slope, not crossover theater
Crossovers get the headlines; slope and filter agreement decide whether the crossover deserves capital.
Crossover stories travel well at lunch. In session we spend more time on slope: is the longer average still rising while the short average curls over? Does the trend filter already say stand aside?
A crossover against a falling long average is often noise. A crossover that arrives while the filter is already green deserves a smaller, calmer entry plan. We grade both cases on the same historical packet so the difference is visible, not theoretical.
If your journal only records crossover dates, add a column for filter status. The page becomes less exciting and more useful.
